Asia and Pacific Centre for Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM) participated in the 75th Session of UN ESCAP which is being held in Bangkok under the overall theme “Empowering all people in Asia and Pacific and bridging inequality gaps”.
Dr. Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, Deputy Vice-President Plan and Budget Organization and Chair of APDIM Governing Council presented Iran’s experiences and lessons from the response to recent massive floods in Iran during a Ministerial Session in the first day of the Commission. He also presented to the Commission a report on the third session of APDIM Governing Council and its programmes and activities since last session of the Commission in May 2018.
Today the 8 members of APDIM Governing Council will be elected from ESCAP member states to serve for three years in governance body of this ESCAP regional institute. The Islamic Republic of Iran is host to APDIM and a permanent member of its Governing Council.
